Johnson Matthey’s involvement in stationary
pollution control in North America dates back to the
1960s when catalyst technology was first used in the
US to control visible NOx emissions from the manufacture
of nitric acid. Passage of the US Clean Air Act of
1970 further spawned Johnson Matthey’s VOC oxidation
catalyst business, Johnson Matthey becoming the first
company to install CO Oxidation catalyst on gas turbines
in California.
Today, Johnson Matthey is involved in developing
and supplying catalyst and catalytic system solutions
for the control of air emissions from manufacturing
processes and combustion sources in a variety of applications,
