Stationary Source Products &
Services
Many of the catalyst and filter technologies developed
and applied so successfully by Johnson Matthey in
the automotive world are equally applicable to the
control of emissions from stationary sources. Johnson
Matthey’s Honeycat® range of stationary
products is manufactured in the same plants and to
the same exacting quality standards as those used
for the automotive industry and can be purchased either
as stand-alone elements, housed units, or designed
to specific requirements.
Technologies available for stationary source emissions
control include:
+ VOC
Oxidation Catalysts for 2-way control of CO &
HC-based air toxics (VOC, HAP, odour)
Concat®,
LHC® and MHC® oxidation catalyst technologies
developed to control a wide range of VOCs and lower
HCs emitted from process combustion, engine and
gas turbines industries. Available as standalone
catalytic elements or integrated catalytic converter
units.

+ HVOC
Oxidation Catalysts for 2-way control of CO &
halogenated VOC compounds
Halocat® oxidation catalyst technologies developed
for use on HVOC (halogenated VOC) process streams
such as the control of chlorinated and brominated
VOCs emitted during production of chemical intermediates.
Halocat® technology is also used in the remediation
of soil from contaminated land.

+ NSCR
(Non-Selective Catalytic Reduction) Catalysts
for simultaneous 3-way NOx, CO & HC control
NSCR (non-selective catalytic reduction) TWC (three-way
catalyst) technology developed to control CO, HC and
NOx emissions from rich-burning engines used in gas
compression, irrigation, pumping and power generation.
Available as standalone catalytic elements or integrated
catalytic converter units.
NSCR NOx abatement catalyst (NAC) technology is also
used to control tail-gas emissions from nitric acid
manufacturing plants.

+ SCR
(Selective Catalytic Reduction) Catalysts & Systems
for NOx control under lean conditions
Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology developed
to control NOx emissions from chemical plant and power
generation applications operating under lean conditions.
Used in conjunction with an ammonia-based reductant
and often combined with CO oxidation technology, applications
include diesel and natural gas engines, gas turbines
and industrial boilers.

+ PM
(Particulate Matter) Control Systems for control
of non-gaseous inorganics
Diesel
particulate filter (DPF) systems such as Johnson Matthey’s
Continuously Regenerating Trap (CRT®) technology
developed for the removal of particulate from stationary
diesel engines operating on low sulphur fuel.
A range of PM control systems is available incorporating
active (electrical heating, fuel-borne additive) or
passive (CRT®, CCRT®) soot combustion techniques
for filter regeneration depending on application.

+ Combined
Catalyst/Filter Systems for 4-way PM, NOx, CO
& HC control
PM control technology may also be used in combination
with other established emission control techniques
such as EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) or SCR to
provide four-way control of CO, HC (VOC/HAP), NOx
and PM.

Honeycat®
catalyst elements are available on metallic or ceramic
honeycomb substrate monoliths in a variety of configurations,
types and sizes, supplied as standalone catalytic
elements, integrated catalytic converter units or
complete systems depending on the application.
Catalyst and filter technologies can
be purchased either directly from Johnson Matthey
or through specialised plant engineering and equipment
suppliers working in partnership with Johnson Matthey
who will incorporate the catalyst or filter in a purposed
designed system to ensure regulatory emissions compliance.
