The range available from Johnson Matthey means that there will be a DPF system right for nearly every application. Johnson Matthey has much practical experience of specifying filters on a wide range of machinery. In order to specify the optimum filter, the following information is required:

engine type - capacity, configuration, aspiration, etc.
engine power / exhaust gas flow rate
typical duty cycle / exhaust gas temperature
regulated pollutants in exhaust gas – usually expressed as g/kWh – in particular PM and NOx
sulphur level in fuel to be used
space available to install filter unit
back pressure limits required.

From this information, Johnson Matthey can determine the correct filter (size and type) and regeneration strategy for the application.
